About Laser Rust Removal

“Laser rust removal – Process
Our meticulous service process is designed to provide optimal care for your vehicles
undercarriage, ensuring its longevity and performance.

1) Comprehensive Assessment:

Our journey begins with a thorough assessment of your
undercarriage. We meticulously inspect every nock and cranny, identifying areas
affected by rust and gauging the extent of damage.

2) Preparation Phase:

Prior to laser we scrap and wire brush rusted surfaces.
This step eliminates scale and loose debris and creates a foundation for laser
application.

3) Rust removal Precision:

Armed with a state of the art continuous 2000w laser
technology we embark on rust removal. Our scope is focused on frame and suspension.
If underbody panels or body rust they will be evaluated separately. Our technicians
carefully target and eliminate all traces of rust. Leaving a surface devoid any corrosion.
Note rubber bushings, wires and lines will not be damaged. These are passed over
without prolonged contact by the laser.

4) Application of industrial coating:

We use “Rust Grip” which is industrial and performs for
20+ years exposed in the elements. A one-part, metallic filled, moisture-cured,
penetrating, encapsulating polyurethane paint. This specialized formulation forms a
robust and long lasting shield against rust. This also seals and encapsulates directly over
rust for spots not accessible by the laser.

5) Application of Top coat:

Top coat is for appearances, it is black to match the rest of the
undercarriage. This done with semi-gloss black.

6) Quality Assurance:

A critical phase, we perform an exhaustive quality check. This
involves a detail examination of the treated areas to verify effectiveness of the laser and
industrial coating.

7) Customer Inspection:

We encourage involvement on our process. We employ four tools
here. One, the inspection before work is started. Two, progress photos via texting. Three
a final inspection with you of completed work. Four, a galley of photos on a thumb
drive, showing before, after laser, after industrial coating and after top coat.

At Laser Rust Removal, our commitment to excel drives every step of our process. From
assessment to application, our systematic approach ensures that your vehicles
undercarriage is fortified against rust, ready to withstand the elements and the road
ahead.”

Laser rust removal – Body rust process:

1) Body rust restoration. The goal is to get rid of the rust and not have it come back. Please
do not expect perfection here. I will do the best I can with the skills I have.
2) Inspect body rust noting holes and any structural damage.
3) A grinder will be applied to address loose and flaking rust.
4) All rust is lasered, vaporizing rust and leaving a metal surface free of dirt, debris and
moisture.
5) At this point “Rust Grip” is applied to all lasered surfaces. Allowing 1 hour to dry before
next step.
6) Large cavities, holes will be back filled with screening where required..
7) Fiberglass fill will be used to fill large cavities where required.
8) Fiberglass is sanded.
9) Bondo is applied and sanding smooth with an orbital sander.
10) Primer is applied to all worked surfaces.
11) Color Match paint is applied.
